A Ferrari is not a car you compare on a spec sheet. It is the sound of the V8 behind your head, the red leather, the way people turn around at every traffic light in Munich. Our Ferrari rental puts the 488 GTB in your hands – not a category, not "or similar", but exactly the car you booked, prepared by our own team in Grünwald.
With Diamond Cars you can rent the Ferrari 488 GTB for five hours, a full day or a 72-hour weekend. Collect it twenty minutes south of downtown Munich or have it delivered to your hotel or to Munich Airport. Most guests who rent a Ferrari in Germany combine it with a run on the Autobahn without a speed limit and a drive into the Alps – the two things this region does better than anywhere else. If you prefer to speak of Ferrari hire – the process is the same, and it takes a few minutes online.

Ideal for Friday to Monday
The 488 GTB is the Ferrari that made turbocharging acceptable in Maranello. The 3.9-liter V8 behind the seats produces 670 hp and 760 Nm of torque, revs to 8,000 rpm and is tuned so that the boost builds with engine speed – it feels like a naturally aspirated Ferrari, only stronger. From a standstill the 488 reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds and keeps pulling to 330 km/h. The seven-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission shifts in milliseconds via the carbon paddles, and the Side Slip Control lets you feel the rear axle working without letting it get away from you.
For a rental, the 488 GTB is the most usable mid-engine Ferrari there is: the cabin is quiet enough for a phone call, the seats are comfortable for a full day, the nose lift clears hotel driveways and the front trunk takes two carry-on bags. Around Munich the car is as happy at 50 km/h on Maximilianstraße as at full throttle on the A9. If you have been looking for a Ferrari rental in Munich, Germany, that delivers the real thing rather than a Portofino from a fleet list, this is the car.
A short introduction is included with every handover: our team explains the manettino drive modes, the launch control, the nose lift and the small details of the 488 before you leave – in English, at your own pace.
You can rent the Ferrari 488 GTB in three ways. The Drive is a five-hour rental from Monday to Thursday, ideal for a first experience or a business trip with a detour into the Alps. One Day gives you 24 hours. The Weekend package runs 72 hours from Friday to Monday and is the choice for a road trip to Neuschwanstein, Salzburg or Lake Garda. Longer periods are available on request.
To rent the 488 GTB you need to be at least 23 years old and have held your driver's license for three years or more. We accept licenses from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and all EU countries; for licenses issued outside the EU we recommend carrying an International Driving Permit together with the original. Bring your passport or ID card and a credit card in the driver's name for the security deposit. Additional drivers are welcome – please name them when you send your request.
The rental contract is in English, and all conditions – included mileage, deposit, insurance excess and delivery costs – are shown before you confirm. There are no hidden fees and no surprises at the handover.
Grünwald, where we hand over the Ferrari, lies twenty minutes south of downtown Munich and right next to the roads the 488 was built for. The A95 toward Garmisch-Partenkirchen starts a few minutes away, the A8 leads east toward Salzburg, and the A9 north of Munich has long stretches without a general speed limit. A 488 GTB at 250 km/h on a clear Autobahn is an experience you cannot legally have anywhere else in the world – and we explain the German rules, from the advisory speed to the emergency lane, before you set off. Our guide to luxury car rental across Germany describes the best sections and three complete Autobahn runs from Munich.
Off the Autobahn, the Kesselberg pass to Lake Walchensee, the Sylvenstein reservoir and the Deutsche Alpenstraße are within an hour of Grünwald – roads where a mid-engine Ferrari with carbon-ceramic brakes makes the most sense. With a one-day rental you can drive Garmisch and Lake Tegernsee in a loop; with the 72-hour weekend package you can reach the Großglockner High Alpine Road in Austria or the Dolomites in Italy and be back in Munich on Monday morning. Crossing into Austria, Italy and Switzerland is possible – simply tell us your route when you book.
Every rental includes full coverage insurance with an excess. The security deposit equals that excess; it is blocked on your credit card at the handover and released after the car is returned undamaged. The exact amount for the 488 GTB is shown in the booking process before you confirm, so you know the figure in advance. Damage to tires, rims or the underbody caused by driving over curbs or on unpaved roads, and use on a race track, are not covered.
Each package includes a mileage allowance – typically 100 to 150 kilometers per day, more for the weekend and weekly packages. If you plan a longer road trip, additional kilometers can be booked in advance at a fixed rate per kilometer, which is cheaper than paying for extra distance afterwards. Tell us where you want to go and we will recommend the right package.
Pick the 488 GTB up in Grünwald, twenty minutes south of downtown Munich, or let us bring it to you. We deliver to Munich Airport (MUC) around your arrival time, to hotels in the city center, to business addresses and to event locations. Delivery within roughly 80 kilometers of Munich – Augsburg, Ingolstadt, Lake Tegernsee, Garmisch – is calculated per kilometer; longer distances and handovers in Austria or Italy are quoted individually. Return works the same way: we collect the car where your trip ends, at the airport if you are flying home.
Airport handovers are the most popular option with our international guests: there is no rental counter and no shuttle bus. You walk out of the terminal, the car is waiting, and after a short introduction you are on your way.
A Ferrari is expensive to buy and even more expensive to own: servicing, insurance, a dry garage and the depreciation of a car that spends most of its life standing still. That is why more and more people rent a Ferrari for the days that matter – a business visit to Munich, a road trip through Bavaria, a milestone birthday. You drive the 488 GTB when you want it, in perfect condition, and hand it back without thinking about the rest.
The 488 GTB is the right car for private celebrations and business occasions alike. Arrive in style at a wedding, a dinner in the city or a trade fair – or surprise someone with the keys to a Ferrari for a day in the Alps. If the recipient should choose the date, a gift voucher for a Ferrari rental is available on request; simply contact us and we prepare it in English.
Diamond Cars has rented sports cars in Munich since 2015, and the Ferrari 488 GTB is our own car, not a broker's listing. That means the model you book is the model you drive – no substitution, no "or similar" – and the person who hands it over knows the car. Our fleet is small on purpose: a Lamborghini Huracán EVO, a Lamborghini Urus, a Porsche 911 GT3, an Audi R8 and a Mercedes-AMG G63 alongside the 488 GTB, every one of them prepared by our team before each rental.
Customers from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and the Gulf states rate us 4.9 out of 5 on Google. They mention the same things: honest conditions, personal contact by phone, email or WhatsApp, and a handover that takes as long as you need. If you are not sure whether the Ferrari or a V10 is right for your trip, ask us – you can also rent a Lamborghini Huracán EVO or rent a Porsche 911 GT3. The full fleet is listed on our sports car rental Munich page.
